As part of the implementation of the policy for major infrastructure modernization projects initiated at the Port of Dakar, a 25-year concession agreement was signed on 07 October 2007 between the Republic of Senegal, the Ministry of The economy, the Port Autonome of Dakar, and DP World FZE. This concession was established to organize, equip, operate and maintain the Container Terminal located in the northern part of the Port of Dakar.
